Artisti con Brio is a group of like-minded young musicians from around Europe, formed in 2013 and passionate about trying out new ideas and developing as musicians. Their debut concert was on the beautiful Island of Ischia, home of the William Walton Foundation.

Since then they have been playing not only as a string ensemble but also in various chamber groups – mainly duos, trios and quintets.

In 2020 they are thrilled to start a residency at Candid Arts Trust in London where they will present a new weekly concert series and develop some educational projects for the young people of Islington.

For Penrith Music Club they will perform three quintets by Mozart, Beethoven and Mendelssohn. 2020 is the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth and this is the first of three Music Club concerts featuring music by Beethoven. His Quintet in C op.29 was written in 1801 and makes a welcome first appearance in our concerts. Mozart’s Quintet in G minor K.516 and the second of Mendelssohn’s two string quintets in B flat op.87 complete an attractive programme.

Programme

Mendelssohn Quintet in B flat op.87
Beethoven Quintet in C op.29
Mozart Quintet in G minor K.516
