Penrith Music Club is proud to announce the opening concert of its 79th season. We will have a Japanese pianist, Noriko Ogawa. This concert will take place at 7:30pm on THURSDAY 15th September, at Penrith Methodist Church. May I remind you it’s not on Monday but THURSDAY.

We are delighted to welcome Noriko, who is an Internationally respected pianist, recording artist, presenter, and educator. Noriko is a professor at Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, and regular adjudicator for international piano competitions including the Scottish International Piano Competition and BBC Young Musician.

Noriko has achieved considerable renown throughout the world since her success at the 1987 Leeds International Piano Competition. Her ‘ravishingly poetic playing’ (Telegraph) sets her apart from her contemporaries and acclaim for her complete Debussy series with BIS Records confirms her as a fine Debussy specialist. Her recording of Debussy’s Images books 1 and 2 was the top recommendation In BBC Radio 3’s CD Review.

Please join us with your friends and family who like good classical music, and appreciate Noriko’s stunning performance described recently by Roger Vignoles BBC Radio3, CD Review, “if you like your Debussy to sound like the musical equivalent of chilled white wine, Noriko Ogawa is the pianist for you.”
